Steve C. Hines - Trustee

Steve Hines is currently a Senior Manager of Business Development in the Federal Markets organization within the Verizon Business Organization.  Steve is responsible for evaluating the strategic business needs of Department of Defense (DOD) customers with regard to Verizon’s ability to provide telecommunication products and services in the Network (voice, video, and data), Security, and Information Assurance arenas. Prior to his tenure in this position, Steve served as the Chief Information Officer for Verizon Federal where he successfully delivered IT solutions to DOD customers allowing them command and control over their telecom switching networks.  In this position Steve generated revenue in excess of $200M on an annual basis.  Steve’s more than 26 years of experience and background demonstrates a true depth and breath of knowledge across the realm of strategic planning, project, financial portfolio management, and program management of IT solutions.

Hines holds a B.S. degree in Business with a concentration in Management Information Systems from Old Dominion University and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.  He also completed some studies at the Wharton Institute as part of the Leadership Development program for Business Executives.

Hines is married to Andrea, his wife of 25 years and they reside in Silver Spring, Maryland.  They have one daughter, Shayla, who is a junior at Indiana University at Bloomington where she is majoring in Audio Engineering/Recording Arts with a minor in Business Entrepreneurship.  He and his family are actively involved in multiple capacities within their church with a large focus on the music ministry.
