Nancy M. Folger - Chair Emeritus
Nancy M. Folger grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She Graduated from Bryn Mawr College and received her Masters in Teaching from The Harvard School of Education. She taught junior high school professionally for two years, and after a long hiatus, has returned to tutor D.C. Elementary school children at J.O. Wilson School one day a week. During the intervening years she has raised 3 sons. She has been a member of the board of the Black Student Fund for more than twenty years and was Chairman of the board for 12 years. Her subsequent professional life includes more than twelve years as Director of Special Events for the Children’s Defense Fund. She chaired the Board of the White House Endowment Fund for three years and has served on numerous non profit boards as well. In the area of the arts she is a member of the Women’s Committee of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, on the boards of Arena Stage, The National Symphony and the Spoleto Festival USA, and as co-chair of the Sitar Arts Center capital campaign.
